CAV delivers a range of targeted interventions, community outreach, and awareness programmes designed to prevent violence, support for families affected, and create safer communities. Our work is flexible, responsive, and shaped by the real needs of the young people and communities we serve, with a strong focus on youth engagement.
We engage in community outreach to support young people who are at risk of violence, exploitation, or offending, as well as those already involved in these issues. Through workshops, group sessions, and targeted interventions, we promote youth engagement by raising awareness of the real-life consequences of exploitation and knife crime. Our goal is to provide support for families and help young people make safer, informed choices, showing them that there is another way to move towards safer, more positive futures.
We deliver impactful sessions in: Schools, Pupil Referral Units (PRUs), and community settings as part of our community outreach initiatives. Our workshops focus on knife crime, exploitation, peer pressure, and decision-making, combining lived experience with real-life context to ensure the messages are relatable and effective. We also aim to provide support for families and enhance youth engagement throughout these sessions.
CAV actively engages in community outreach through: Local events, awareness campaigns, and community projects. Our initiatives focus on support for families and youth engagement, working to build trust, strengthen relationships, and foster open conversations around violence and its impact.
We provide compassionate, peer-led support for families impacted by knife crime and serious violence, focusing on community outreach to foster healing. This includes: Emotional support and signposting, safe spaces to share experiences, and advocacy that strengthens community connection and youth engagement. Our approach ensures families feel heard, supported, and not alone.
By utilizing creative platforms such as music and media, we partner with BoothBuss to enhance youth engagement through community outreach initiatives that resonate naturally with young people. This approach not only builds confidence and encourages self-expression but also provides vital support for families by offering positive alternatives to harmful pathways.
We organize and support community outreach events that raise awareness and bring communities together, including: Community Action fun days, community engagement events, fundraising and awareness campaigns, and anti-knife crime football matches. These events create visibility, spark conversations, and promote unity while providing support for families and encouraging youth engagement. “Prevention. Support. Change.”
